Burton Waters has an enviable reputation in supplying new and used boats in excellent condition and working order. However, should you find yourself in the unlikely position of needing to submit a warranty claim we would be glad to talk to you.
What you need to know and what you need to do.
Please note, we cannot discuss or process warranty issues over the telephone, without us previously receiving a claim form. We ask that all correspondence is done in writing, preferably by email using the Claim Form, or by post/fax – this ensures that all correspondence is documented and kept on file.
If your boat is new, it will be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty against all defects. If your boat is used, Burton Waters Marina covers the engine only for three months (from the date of purchase). If your boat was bought from us on brokerage, unfortunately no warranties apply.
All lifts in and out of water are at the owner’s expense and are not covered by warranty.
- STEP 1:
Fill out the claim form attached and send it to us preferably by email or by fax or post. On receipt and approval of your claim, we will need you to email, fax (01522 580931) or post a copy of your original final boat invoice, and all the service history.
- STEP 2:
On receipt of the completed form we will assess whether your boat is covered under warranty. We may call you to discuss the claim with any questions we/you may have.
- STEP 3:
We will confirm what is and what is not covered and we will then normally either:
- Send a technician to the vessel and correct the fault
- Ask you to get two quotes from local firms to rectify the faults.
- Ask you to return the boat to our address where we will carry out the repairs.
IT IS THE CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR ANY TOWS, LIFTING, STORAGE, MOORINGS AND TRANSPORT TO AND FROM AN AUTHORISED REPAIR CENTRE.
- STEP 4: We will carry out the work. If you have new faults that need to be rectified, then a new form will need to be completed.
