Selling Your Boat for Cash

Documentation is an essential requirement for any boat sale, so it is imperative that you have the following:–

1. The original Bill(s) of Sale for 5 consecutive years
2. An original Builder’s Certificate
   OR
   Declaration of Conformity/Statement of Origin
3. Proof of VAT paid on your boat (original copy)
4. Part 1 Registered Boats (English Ports) – original or copy
   (Provides proof of ownership and is required for taking the boat abroad)
5. Jersey/Guernsey Registered – Original certificate required
6. Part 3 Registered Boats (Small Ships Registry)
   Not proof of ownership but is advisable for day trips to Europe.

Without these documents we may not be prepared to make an offer on your boat. You must also inform us of any outstanding finance on the boat.

Reverse Part Exchange:

This is an additional service offered by Burton Waters Boat Sales, whereby you can exchange your existing boat for one of a lesser value, choosing from any of the stock or new boats listed on our Boats for Sale Section, and we will pay you the difference.

Simply click here, to provide all the details of your existing boat and the boat you’re interested in and we will pass the details to our underwriters, who will supply both the retail and trade values of your existing boat. A member of our staff will then inspect your boat.

Once we have received all the information we need, we can set about the all-important task of sending you your cheque.

Note: If you have finance on your existing boat, we can also settle and deal directly with your finance company.

Advantages: You get cash and another boat quickly.

Disadvantages: We only pay the 12 week value on your existing boat and deduct the cheaper boat at the asking price.
