For 2018 we took the decision to delay our annual Boating Festival event and this year it took place on Saturday 9th June. It turns out that our decision was rewarded with great weather and consequently we had a fantastic turnout on the day with over 500 people coming through the gates for the event.

The live music proved a great success once again adding to the atmosphere on the day, with lots of stalls for visitors to browse around and various fun activities for the smaller ones and bigger kids alike to enjoy! The amazing food provided by the Gastropod was mouth-watering and they even sold out of their deliciously tempting cakes. They have promised to return!
A big thank you to all our stallholders and local businesses who came on the day to help support our event and for donating prizes for the charity raffle and to Arbor Living for additional promotion of our event. Families and boating enthusiasts from around the county attended this significant boating event, which is now in its fifth year, helping to raise money for our two nominated causes.
As always, our Boating Festival is a charity event and we were absolutely bowled over with the support we had from everyone – so much so that we were able to raise over £1300 for Prostate Cancer UK and the RNLI, this smashes our previous record for charity money raised for the two causes which are close to the hearts of everyone involved in organising the event. The money will help important research into the vital work of Prostate Cancer UK as well as go towards saving lives at sea with the help of the RNLI.
We haven't yet been able to confirm the date of next year’s event, but given the success of this year’s, this is likely to be around mid June 2019 and we can't wait to host the 2019 event which we hope to make even bigger and better than this year. We will of course keep you posted as soon as a more definite date has been confirmed.
