We don’t only bring you amazing deals, but also the exciting news of the boating world. Jaguar Vector racing has now broken battery-powered boat national and world electric speed records. This particular vessel was constructed in partnership with Williams Advanced engineering and averaged a speed of 88.61mph on a 1km course on Coniston Water, in England. The director of experiential marketing at Jaguar Land Rover, Mark Cameron, said: “Jaguar is at the forefront of electrification technology and our mission is to ‘race to innovate’ on track and on the water.’ This partnership is proving to be a record-breaking one as they display British engineering developments.
Volvo Pena is ready to launch their new self-docking solution for vessels in 2020. A live demonstration of the technology was shown at a stopover during the Volvo Ocean Race. The demonstration showed a 68ft yacht maneuvering itself into a small docking space between two racing yachts. The technology allows for computers to monitor conditions such as wind change and sea conditions to lead to a safe docking.
The onboard electronic vessel control system is the driving force behind the calculations to get the boat into position along with sensors on the berth. The boat’s system will then enter a ‘catch zone’ and signal that it is ready for the boat to dock. Prototypes are currently being tested in trials to create the best technology when it is released.
The boating world constantly has technological developments that will aid in the sport, luxury and enjoyment of boats. Burton Waters Boat Sales aims to be at the helm of these developments in bringing you the latest listings of these vessels.
See you next week!
