The European Powerboat Award nominees for 2019 have been announced and we are proud to say that two boats from the Jeanneau range have made the cut. These two boats are the Merry Fisher 1095 and the NC 37. The official announcement of the winners will take place during the Flagship-Night of the Boot Düsseldorf on the 27th January in 2019. Burton Waters prides ourselves in stocking the best boats on the market and this is a clear indication that we are achieving this. Let’s dive in and see why these boats were nominated for this prestigious award.
The category that the Merry Fisher 1095 is in, is the 25 to 35 ft group. The European Powerboat Awards have said this category groups boats that focus on water vacations as well as family use. These boats are generally used in a ‘classical sense’ and this makes their use of space and rooms very important. The new Merry Fisher 1095 is making the best use of outboard engines which have made a splash in the new world of boating. This technology makes the boat lovely and easy to use but also makes sure that it performs exceptionally. The European Powerboat Awards describe it as having a “very promising future”. This boat is the flagship of the line for Jeanneau. The Merry Fisher 1095 has a hull which is designed for this type of propulsion that caters to the needs of the owners.

The Jeanneau NC 37 falls into the 35 to 45 ft category. The boats in this category are known for their suitability to travel longer distances and are able to traverse open water as well as traveling close to the coast. In this particular category, the judges will be evaluation driving behavior, safety and range. The Jeanneau NC 37 was designed as almost an “apartment with a terrace directly on the water.” This boat seeks to provide a lifestyle at sea that gives you the comfort of being in your own home. It has an L-shaped aft cockpit which also adapts into a sundeck. The new model makes use of the latest innovation which includes a beautiful sliding glass door that opens onto the aft cockpit. There was a redesign of the boat’s layout so that the galley is open to the exterior as well. There is a central bar and creates a wonderful flow between the exterior and the interior.

The European Powerboat Award was created in 2005. In November, the judges will meet to vote for the final winners of each category. They base their votes on the following criteria: workmanship, safety, driving behaviour, design, distribution of space and the price-performance ratio. The boats that then earn the most points will be awarded with the incredible title of European Powerboat of the Year. It is still an honour to have a brand that we work with nominated for an award of this caliber. We look forward to hearing the results from the ceremony at the beginning of next year and to continue to bring you the best of the boating world.
