The Burton Waters team will be heading to the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January of 2019! It is Europe’s largest indoor boat show and is open from the 19th-27th January. It’s the biggest boat show there is and our team is extremely excited to be able to attend. Let’s find out what makes this boat show one of the very best there is in the world.
The exciting news about the Dusseldorf Boat Show next year is that this show is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The celebrations will start the night before the show and this will be with a special boot performance on the ice skating rink on Königsallee. What makes this show so special is that the ice rink will be lit up in the well known blue of boot. The city is also getting involved and the shops along the Dusseldorf shopping mile will put up decorations to commemorate the occasion. There will be 1900 exhibitors from 68 countries. These exhibitors will get the chance to show off their innovations and developments to water enthusiasts.
The boat show will show off more than just boats but also a variety of other water sports too. There will be 16 exhibition halls for visitors to enjoy that span across an area of 220 000 square metres! There is something for everyone, the watersports on show will include: water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skis, diving, surfing, kite surfing, SUP, fishing, maritime art, beach resorts and charter trips. Some of the areas we are most looking forward to are Powerboat World and the Sailing Center. Powerboat World will showcase new boats and yachts for the upcoming season and they will be unveiled at this event. There will also be information sessions that provide advice to those who are new to the world of boats. In this area you’ll also get the experience some of the latest in engine technology and get close to the stars of the powerboat world.
An exciting interactive feature at the boat show will be the Sailing School. This is where visitors to the show will be able to get important information on learning to sail from experts in the field. These experts will be interviewed and you can watch them on the stage by the pool. There is seating in the area so this is a nice way to take a break from the show and enjoy listening to some interesting information and enjoy being educated on the sport. The Sailing School is open to all, including children, and you’ll even get a chance to go on the water and get a feel for the boat. The motto of the boot Sailing School is, “Feel what real sailing feels like”, and this is what they will be offering. They will have experienced sailing coaches from Dusseldorf’s sailing center to help you through the process and enjoy the experience. There is no registration required for your event so you can try it out whenever you feel like it!
We will keep you updated on any more news about this exciting event. We can’t wait to find out which boat launches will be happening next year at the Dusseldorf Boat Show.
